Fox Run Animal Mini Cookie Cutter Set

By Cookie Contessa "cookie queen" (Byron, CA) - OK, so they are cute but are basically only good for pastry, like cutting pie crust for a decorative pie edge. I wanted them for actual cookies. Although you can cut them out and bake them as sugar cookies, the shape is lost so small.

By Amanda Timberlake (Kentucky) - These shapes are so cute, I couldn't pass them up. I use them to cut out fondant designs. To wash, I rinse them with water then set them on a paper towel to dry - I haven't experienced any rusting yet.

By Consumer in Kentucky - These mini cookie cutters are about the size of store-bought animal crackers. They are so small, though, that some of the detail of the animal is hard to see and hard to get out of the cutter. They cut well and have a rim on the top side of the cutter that protects your hands from sharp edges.

By K. Scheppke (San Diego, CA USA) - These cookie cutters are fabulous because they cut bite-sized cookies in interesting animal shapes. Unlike other animal shaped cookie cutters, these cutter shapes are detailed enough so that even after the cookies bake and the edges round out, it's still easy to identify the various animals. Because these cutters aren't made of stainless steel, they do need to be dried thoroughly. I found using a hair dryer to be a quick and effective way to get all the water off of them, especially in the hard to reach corners.

By Margaret A. Barton "cool mom" (Tehachapi, CA) - I don't like my kids to have too much sugar, but I don't want them to feel deprived either. These mini-cookie cutters are a great way to compromise. They love to help make the little cookies and they love to eat them. The animal shapes appeal to my little ones, too.

Christmas Linzer Cookie Cutter Set (7-pc. set)

By Susan A. Logsdon "Crafty" (somewhere in So. Jersey) - Nice set of cookie cutters. Occassionally the center cutter will slip out of the outer cutter, but I think this could happen with any set. The cookies were a big hit over the Christmas holidays and I'll be buying other holiday sets as well.

By J.C. "Ahleha" (Chicago IL) - These cutters are hard to put back together and do not cut center very well. If you are very patient you MAY get good results, but the cookie cutting is slow going.

By Pasquale DiCintio Jr. "Pat" (Parker, CO USA) - The Linzer cookie cutter served its purpose. The recipe that came with it was also good. It could use a little better instruction on how to put the cutter back together after it gets separated for washing.

Fox Run 26-Piece Alphabet Cookie Cutter Set

By Patsy L. Rosas - We made cookies of peoples names and used them for place settings at my daughters birthday party... big hit!!! Perfect size!

By S. Burnham - Sturdy cookie cutters but they are a lot smaller than I expected. The image shown is true to size! Makes it hard to cut anything remotely sticky cause it just gets stuck in the cutter.

By Danielle B. (Wichita KS) - I used them once and the begin rusting at the seems. They are cheap and the letter are too small to use for anything. Next time, I'm buying plastic and a larger size.

By Amalfi Coast Girl (Mid-Atlantic, USA) - An avid home cook that is a collector of both cookbooks and cooking gadgets writes this review. I purchased this product because my cooking has progressed to the point that I am as concerned about presentation as I am the taste of the food I fix for my family. I use this product to make fancy cuts on cookies, pie dough and raw vegetables. I have summarized my observations of this product below: Pros: 1. Easy to change the shape of the cutout 2. Small size means easy to store 3. Excellent for cookie dough as well as chilled pastry and raw vegetables 4. Easy to clean by hand 5. Makes a very impressive cookie or pie crust that is deceptively simple Cons: 1. Of limited usefulness but still quite fun (It wouldn't be the first kitchen gadget I would add to my collection) 2. Small size means it should not go into the dishwasher unless you want them to end up in the bottom If you are wondering what you could do with these, here are some suggestions: 1. Happy Birthday on a top pie crust (cut out dough from the top crust or add dough letters to the top) 2. Message cut out of the top of a quesadilla 3. Monogrammed cookies 4. Monogram tea sandwiches 5. Cut out letters from cooked veggies and use the rim of a plate to send a message 6. Monogrammed french fries of polenta (the potato will needed to be thinner than normal to successfully cut it out) The options are really endless if you are creative. I think messages in lunches are a nice way to remind those that you love that you are thinking about them. Overall, if you are looking for way to enhance the appearance of the food you serve your family you will get a lot of use out of these.
